2024 Intermountain Graduate Conference: "Looking Beyond Borders"

Event: March 29-30

  • Sponsored by the English Graduate Student Association at Idaho State University.
  • Seeking a variety of papers around the theme “Looking Beyond Borders” interpreted and explored broadly across topics and perspectives. Generally, to ‘look beyond borders’ is to look beyond boundaries, biases, conditions, weaknesses, limitations, and mundaneness to achieve greater unity in its many forms.
  • Submissions from both graduate and undergraduate students in all disciplines are welcome.
  • Will consider topics unrelated to the conference theme and other forms of presentation, such as performance art, poster presentations, and readings of creative work.
  • Please submit a 300-word proposal to egsa@isu.edu by Friday, February 2, 2024.

Yidan Guo's exhibition is a series of painted portraits of Asian immigrant women. They are based on her interactions with women she interviewed.

S.T.E.A.M. PUNK ANTHROPOLOGY 

Anthropology Day at The Idaho Museum of Natural History

This educational event is intended to help primary-age children learn about the four fields of anthropology through fun, hands-on activities. The event's theme is S.T.E.A.M. PUNK ANTHROPOLOGY -- presenters and participants are welcome to don their retro sci-fi finery. Anyone who would like to participate is welcome.

Auditions begin on February 24 at the ISU Fine Arts Building


Fill out an application as soon as possible. You will be contacted in January to schedule your audition time. All Students Interested In majoring or minoring In music, or anyone who would like to be considered for a scholarship must audition. Scholarships are available for anyone participating in ensembles regardless of major. Videos can be used for those outside of Idaho or those unable to attend. February 22 | 5-8 PM | 4th floor of ISU's Fine Arts Building

This event raises money for student scholarships and the visiting artist program and includes a silent auction, where art made by students, faculty, and alumni will be auctioned. The event will also include a free children's art activity. The ISU Fine Arts Club will be holding a bake sale to support student activities.


We invite the public to come see what our students and faculty have been creating and possibly bring something home!


Items at auction include jewelry, ceramics, prints, sculptures, paintings, and wearables. Bids will be accepted during the preview exhibition from Feb. 12-22 in the compARTment gallery.
