Announcing Department and Program Changes

Restructuring Anthropology, Languages, and Global Studies at ISU

In an exciting development the Department of Anthropology will expand its scope, becoming the Department of Anthropology and Languages, while the Department of Global Studies and Languages will transform into the Global Studies Program. Read more: Restructuring details.

Vocal Competition Awards

Congratulations to incoming ISU music major Bella Wilkey for making it to the national semi-final round of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). Out of 47 entries at the Intermountain Regional competition Bella submitted her online performance and placed first in her division. She now moves on to the national level. 
Congratulations as well to ISU Professor of Music, Dr. Diana Livingston Friedley for being invited to adjudicate the semi-final round held in Knoxville, Tennessee, June 27-28. This is her second year having students advance to the semi-finals.

Congratulations to Jodie Schwicht for winning first place in the vocal category of the Idaho Federation of Music Clubs (IFMC) Collegiate Awards for 2024-25! This prestigious honor comes with a $1,000 scholarship and highlights Jodie's exceptional talent and dedication to music.

National Ethics Writing Contest

We are thrilled to announce that graduate student, Ana Stalzer's manuscript, "Harm Through Stigma: Commander Notification of Service Members’ Mental Health," has been selected as the award-winning entry in the 2024 American Psychological Association (APA) Ethics Committee Graduate Student Ethics Writing Competition. Ana will be honored at the August APA conference, and her paper will be published in Ethics and Behavior. This remarkable achievement originated from her work in Joshua Swift's Ethics class and was further developed in Mona Xu's Social class. Welcome, Grace High School Students!

Welcome to the 10 out of 28 graduates from Grace Jr/Sr High School will be joining the Bengal family at Idaho State University! We are incredibly proud of each of these students for their hard work and dedication. Special congratulations to the two graduates who have received scholarships from the College of Technology and to one student who will be representing us in rodeo. We can't wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish as ISU Bengals.

Final Weekend of The Wizard of Oz

ISU's Farm Bureau Summer Community Theatre is proud to present "The Wizard of Oz"! Join us for a magical journey down the yellow brick road as we bring this beloved classic to life on stage.


With dazzling costumes, a spectacular set, and timeless music, this is a production the whole family will adore.

Farewell Open House

MAJ Michael Goering and MSG John Cruz will be leaving the ISU Department of Military Science (Army ROTC) for their next adventure.


We are having a Farewell Open House on Tuesday, July 2 from 2 - 4 p.m. in the Salmon River Suites.


Light refreshments will be served and comments from MAJ Goering and MSG Cruz will be around 3 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there!
