Special Commencement Edition

May 2023

Dean Kandi Turley Ames and her son Evan pose together at graduation in their commencement regalia

Hello Friends,

This weekend was magical! I attended the Spring 2023 Idaho State University commencement ceremony and saw so many people I appreciate and respect walk and receive their diplomas. This commencement was even more special than normal because I was able to present my son, Evan, with his diploma as he walked across the stage. I have a Bengal family that includes not just my son and daughter, both alumni of ISU, but the amazing faculty who support their students, and the amazing students in our programs who are an inspiration to me.

The College of Arts and Letters awarded 376 degrees on Saturday. These graduates are going to go out and change the world. Congratulations graduates and all those who supported you on your journey. This is a great new beginning for you!

With best wishes,

Kandi Turley Ames

Dean, College of Arts and Letters
