The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides FREE tax preparation services for low to moderate income Montgomery County residents.

Most sources of financial aid require tax information from students and their families. Filing your taxes now will help you to be prepared for financial aid season in Fall 2019.

Amount: $1,250-$2,500
Eligibility: Grades 9-12; 1,000-1,250 word essay; Students whose parents are not in the Foreign Service are eligible to participate.

Due Date: March 31, 2019
Amount: $250-$750
Eligibility: Students, student groups and classes attending a public or private high school, or being home schooled, within the United States and in grades 9-12 or the equivalent. There are two categories for submissions: Individual and Team. The Team category will consist of two or more students. Students are encouraged to use their creativity and create art pieces in any medium desired (including, but not limited to, drawings, paintings, films, photographs, graphic novels, comics, etc.). Each submission must be accompanied by a signed Law Day Contest Entry

Eligibility: Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application; Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia; Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2025) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education.
