Montgomery College (MC) Tasks

  • Apply to MC
  • Send your acceptance letter to a CollegeTracks staff member (letters are emailed to you 3-7 business days after submitting your application)
  • Claim your MC account by clicking here and then click "Access MyMC"
  • Complete the New Student Orientation
  • Complete the Advising Questionnaire
  • Ask your CollegeTracks staff member if you have other tasks to complete (these can be different for each student)
*Applying to MC is a great idea now more than ever. It will give you another fall option in case the COVID-19 crisis drastically impacts your other plans. Reach out to CollegeTracks to get guidance about applying!

College Decision Day Deadline Changes

Decision Day is the date students need to submit deposits to commit to the college of their choice. Many colleges are pushing back their normal Decision Day from May 1st to June 1st. Click  here  to look at admission status updates.

Coronavirus Updates for Students Taking the SAT | College Board
  • The June 6, 2020 SAT test has been cancelled.
  • College Board plans to administer weekend SAT tests every month from August 2020-December 2020.
  • Students who were registered for the June test and those in the high school class of 2021 who don't have SAT scores will have early access to registration for the August, September, and October administrations.
  • Students will be able to register for these upcoming tests in May. College Board will have extra test sites to accommodate for the cancelled tests.
  • Regarding the March MCPS test: almost all of our state and district partners have expressed interest in providing SAT School Day administrations in September and October.
  • In the unlikely event that schools don't reopen this fall, College Board will provide a digital SAT for home use.

ELIGIBILITY:  Grades 9-12; Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident. Must register for the Countdown to College eNewsletter and must be be current subscribers to the newsletter at the time of the drawing.

DUE DATE:  5/15/2020
AMOUNT:  Varies
ELIGIBILITY: Be  a high school student. No citizenship eligibility required. Submit a project or photo that exhibits computer-based media creative work.

NAME:  B. Davis Scholarship
DUE DATE: 5/22/20
AMOUNT:  $1000
ELIGIBILITY:  Grades 11-12. No citizenship eligibility required. Write an essay of 1000 words or less on the topic of leadership.

February 2020 Speech Code of the Month: Frostburg State University

Location: Frostburg, Maryland
Application Deadlines:
N ovember 15 (Early Action) | February 1 (Regular Decision)


1. Frostburg is a small public university with about 5,000 undergraduate students.

2. Even though there are application deadlines, Frostburg accepts students on a rolling basis.

3. They have unique majors and programs, such as Addictions Counseling, Adventure Sports Management, Computer Print Graphics, and Wild Life & Fisheries.

4. Frostburg is only 2 hours from Pittsburgh and 2.5 hours from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.
