Heroes Park Update; Open House - February 21
At the December 19 City Council meeting, City Council approved a contract to purchase six bronze sculptures for Heroes Park. The life-size bronze sculptures will represent each branch of the military, as recommended by the Heroes Park Design Committee comprised of veterans and citizens. This art was contracted separately from the Heroes Park construction project due to the extensive lead time for production (up to 14 months).
The public is invited to an Open House on Wednesday, February 21 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at the Colleyville Center, 5301 Riverwalk Drive. This will be an opportunity for the public to learn more about the Heroes Park project and provide citizen feedback.

Final Special Collection for Leaf/Christmas Tree Recycling on January 6
Special leaf and Christmas tree recycling collections returned this winter and the final collection will be next Saturday, January 6. The final collection for recycling will include leaves and Christmas trees. Residents are asked to not enclose the tree in a plastic sack or bag and to remove all tinsel, stands, and tree decorations.
To participate, residents just need to set out leaves on the designated day. CWD will recycle leaves in any type of bag, paper lawn craft bag or plastic bag. If leaf bags are set out prior to the Saturday collection, residents are asked to place leaf bags separately from household trash. With that in mind, residents should be aware of and comply with their Homeowner Association's policies.
