Sweet!, HTeaO to Open in Colleyville
HTeaO is coming to Colleyville! The City Council on Tuesday approved the zoning change for HTeaO at the former Sonic site, 4917 Colleyville Boulevard, near the Glade Road and Colleyville Boulevard intersection. This is a big win for the City on a challenging site! The site is small, which limited the tenants that could consider this location. HTeaO provides a variety of teas (sweet and unsweet) and coffee to-go. What's more, each franchisee is required to invest a portion of their revenue back into the city in which they operate. We look forward to HTeaO being a valued member of our business community!

Colleyville Fire Department Deployed in Response to Wildland Fires
Colleyville Fire Department deployed an ambulance and crew last week to support the state response to wildland fires across Central and West Texas. Captain Daniel Torti and Firefighter Shane Bailer responded as part of a Texas Emergency Medical Task Force Wildland Fire Support Package. This group is specifically tasked with standing by and responding to emergency medical needs of wildland firefighters on the front lines. Torti and Bailer were sent to a fire outbreak near Cisco before moving on to Merkel to stage for the forecast of extreme wildfires in Central Texas the latter part of last week. The group was deployed for a five day period.
This week, Colleyville Fire continued their mission with the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force. Captain Torti and Firefighter Bailer were relieved by Captain Brent Wilson and Firefighter Caitlin Golightly. Wilson and Golightly have spent their days standing by for and responding to medical emergencies related to firefighting efforts near the communities of Carbon and Rising Star. Although recent rains have quieted the wildfires, crews continue to work to ensure these fires don't rekindle. The ambulance and crew are currently committed through March 30.

Cheek-Sparger Switchover Temporarily Delayed
Due to weather conditions this week, the switchover of traveling traffic on Cheek-Sparger was temporarily delayed. In the coming week, traffic should be switched over to the new permanent lane for the south side lane of Cheek-Sparger. Work will continue on the north side, when the traffic switch is made, with the installation of the new 12-inch waterline main. Upon installation of the waterline, work will continue on the underground storm sewer system installation and the forming of the concrete curb and gutter for the north side. The north side will also include an 8-foot wide sidewalk that will connect SH26 to Brown Trail along Cheek-Sparger. The expected completion date for this project is December 2022.
