Fire Department Busy Vaccinating Colleyville Residents
vaccine fire dept
Over the last few weeks, Colleyville firefighters have been busy vaccinating Colleyville residents, after being approved as an official vaccine distribution site. The City has received Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccine doses and has vaccinated 925 Colleyville residents to date. For these vaccines, Tarrant County sent the City a list of Colleyville residents that had registered with the County.

Fire Department staff is committed to serving our community and doing their part in the vaccination efforts. The opportunity to vaccinate a 100 year old resident this past week exemplifies "why" the Fire Department staff has participated in the vaccination efforts.

Staff continues to request additional vaccine supply on a weekly basis. Texas Department of Health has expanded the vaccination-qualifying age to any adult beginning March 29. Residents are encouraged to register for the vaccine via the Tarrant County website at: www.tarrantcounty.com/covidshot.
Cupid's Cash Update
cupids cash $35 gift card
The City's Cupid's Cash gift card program, aimed at supporting our local businesses, concluded this past week. Although some businesses are still bringing in cards, the totals to date are outstanding. We have already exceeded $309,000 in redeemed gift cards, which goes right into the hands of our businesses.

We expanded this program to include our local heroes GCISD teachers and staff, first responders from surrounding cities, and healthcare workers. 25% of the redemptions have been from these groups. We are happy to provide this small token of appreciation to them and provide new customers to our businesses at the same time. Great job Colleyville in getting out, using the gift cards, and supporting our business community!

Reminder: Pick Up After Animals, Dogs Must Be on Leash
dog poop parks
As the weather gets nicer, more and more people like to get outdoors with their four-legged friends to enjoy some some fresh air. To ensure everyone has a pleasant time around town, we want to remind animal owners of the following:

Please pick up after your dog (or horse). Besides being unsightly and smelly, animal waste can be hazardous to the health of residents and other pets. Take along a baggie with you to pick up waste and dispose of it properly. If you don't watch your step, you're likely to step in one such reminder!

All dogs must be controlled on a leash by an able-bodied person, at all times, whenever the dog is on public property. This includes all parks, sidewalks, and streets. This is to ensure the safety of our residents, their pets, and area wildlife.

Our Animal Services Department investigates all animal-related complaints. In cases where a violation has occurred, the animal control officer may issue a citation. To report an animal complaint, call 817.743.4522.
