Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Transitions from FWECC to CWD on October 1 | |
One option for residents to dispose of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) has traditionally been through drop-offs at the Fort Worth Environmental Collection Center (FWECC). The City of Colleyville has contracted with the FWECC for many years and enjoyed a great partnership. Unfortunately, the City was notified that rates charged by the FWECC to the City for this service will nearly double on October 1.
Fortunately, Colleyville already has an existing program with Community Waste Disposal (CWD) for door-side recycling of HHW and electronics. All items accepted by the FWECC are also accepted by CWD. Beginning October 1, 2023, all HHW disposal will transition to the CWD door-side program ONLY and the contract with the FWECC will terminate. HHW may be dropped off at the FWECC through September 30.
With any transition, we would like to help the process go as smoothly as possible. To that end, information on how to schedule door-side collection with CWD can be found here. Still have questions? Give us a call at 817.503.1111.

Join us in welcoming Colleyville's newest Officer, sworn in by Chief Miller on September 14.
Officer Perry was born and grew up in Texas. He has spent the last several years working in the private sector but has found that to be very dissatisfying. It took several years to find his calling, and he is looking forward to starting his career as a Police Officer. Officer Perry is married and has two children.
Congratulations Officer Perry and welcome to the Colleyville family!
