Glade Road Phase II Construction To Begin October 5
riverwalk glade roundabout
Glade Road Phase II construction, from Colleyville Boulevard (SH26) to Pool Road, is expected to begin October 5. As with any construction project, we do anticipate inconveniences. Traffic will be one-way at times. Message boards will be utilized to notify the traveling public of the upcoming project and will be updated, as needed.

Major improvements through the corridor include:
  • A roundabout at Riverwalk Drive
  • Lowering Bluebonnet Drive while removing the stop signs for east/west-bound traffic; left turn lane will be added for eastbound traffic
  • Strategic left turn lane pockets at certain locations to reduce the stacking of traffic
  • Addition of curb and gutter and/or ribbon curbs with open channel ditches and drop inlets
  • Realignment of the Bedford Road intersection to improve sight visibility
  • Drainage improvements including the addition of an engineered Storm Drainage System
  • Sidewalks and/or trails will be added throughout the corridor
  • A crosswalk will be added near the Senior Center

September 28 - National Good Neighbor Day
national good neighbor day
Good neighbors make great neighborhoods! National Good Neighbor Day, September 28, celebrates the importance of a good neighbor and creates an opportunity for neighbors to get to know each other better.

2020 has been a difficult year for many and we've heard countless heartwarming stories and examples of residents stepping up to help each other. National Good Neighbor Day is a great opportunity to continue those efforts and pledge to be a "good neighbor," becoming part of a more connected and caring community.

Great neighborhoods are built on 5 basic pillars:
  • Connection Introduce yourself to your neighbors.
  • Invitation Invite neighbors to join you in activities, community projects, or even a simple meal.
  • Celebration Recognize, congratulate, or just cheer neighbors on for important milestones.
  • Awareness Keep your eyes and ears open, staying attentive to the safety and security of your neighborhood.
  • Availability Care for your neighbors. Show kindness and offer assistance when needed.
October Events Canceled but Christmas Lives On!
With restroom construction still underway at Nature Center Park, as well as the current nationwide pandemic, the City has chosen to cancel the Haunted Trail Fest as well as National Night Out. This was not an easy decision but after much discussion, the safety and well-being of all was more important. We look forward to hosting these events in Fall 2021.

It's not all bad! Our Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration is still scheduled to take place on Friday, December 4 and Santa has confirmed that the City of Colleyville is already on his reindeer route! More information on this event to come.

Mosquito Samples Test Positive for West Nile Virus
mosquito alert
On Wednesday, September 23, Tarrant County Health Department notified the City of Colleyville of positive test results for West Nile Virus in 2 of the 6 submitted mosquito samples for the week of September 17. The positive mosquito samples were located in the vicinities of 4100 Windermere Court and 6800 Milton Drive. This is the 35th sample that has tested positive for WNV in 2020.

The test sites will be treated with larvicide and are scheduled for continued treatment and testing. Residents within a quarter-mile of the sample area were notified by CodeRED. This triggered truck mounted fogging at this location. Fogging was conducted Wednesday night (9/23) and Thursday night (9/24).

For more information and fogging area maps, visit the City of Colleyville's Mosquito Control and Management page or go to Tarrant County's Mosquito Prevention page.
