Alarm Permits No Longer Required, Effective October 1
Effective October 1, Colleyville will no longer require homeowners to register for a home alarm permit. Created in 2011, the goal of the alarm registration and permit program has been to reduce the number of false alarm calls to the police department. This goal has been achieved and the program is no longer necessary. City Council approved an ordinance at the September 6 City Council meeting to repeal the 2011 ordinance establishing the program. Elimination of the alarm registration and any associated fees will not impact Police Department response to alarm calls.

Library Going Fine-Free October 1
Forgot to turn in a book? Didn't make it to the Library with your items? No worries – the Colleyville Public Library is going FINE-FREE! Effective October 1, all Library cardholders in good standing will no longer be assessed fines for turning in their items past the due date but will still be responsible for returning items. Most items will continue to be automatically renewed up to five times, unless the item has a hold placed.
Borrowers will still be notified their items are overdue. Overdue notices will be sent at 7, 14, and 21 days overdue. If items are not returned within 21 days, the Library cardholder's account will be blocked and all borrowing privileges will be suspended. Any library materials not returned after 42 days of the due date will be billed to the cardholder. Once materials are returned, borrowing privileges will be reinstated.
For more information, contact the Library at 817.503.1150.
