The temperatures have finally caught up with the season, and it's the perfect time to plant your cool-season garden! We'll have the best variety of winter annuals over the next three weeks, with a narrowed but fresh selection throughout the holiday season.

Christmas trees, greenery and poinsettias are expected to arrive the week before Thanksgiving!

Pansies & Violas

It's pansy-planting time!

Pansies are the quintessential winter flower for sun or partial sun. For shadier areas opt for violas as they have a better chance of blooming in less sun. Trailing pansies are a good choice to spill over the edge of containers and hanging baskets.

Snapdragons & Dianthus

Plant now for spring blooms: Snapdragons, dianthus, foxglove, poppies and stock will grow and bloom more vigorously next spring if planted in the fall. Snaps and dianthus tend to be deer resistant and are a great alternative to pansies for winter blooms in deer-ravaged gardens.

'Bulbs in the Bottom'

Adorable pots of cheerful pansies for blooms all winter with the added bonus of tulips that will come up next spring! Simply place in full or partial sun and keep soil moist. Ideal for adding a pop of color to your deck or patio, or giving as a fun gift to the green-thumb on your list.

Bulbs Arrive Next Week!

Late fall is the best time to plant spring-flowering bulbs (after Thanksgiving to lessen the chance of warm temps causing the bulbs to grow prematurely). We'll have amaryllis, hyacinth, iris, narcissus, paperwhites, tulips and more. If you're forcing bulbs for the holidays, allow 4 to 6 weeks for paperwhites to flower and 6 to 8 weeks for amaryllis.

Pumpkins

We've got a good selection of pumpkins and it's not too late to stack a few on your steps or porch for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Keep your pumpkins fresh through November by shielding them from rain.
