Fair on the Square: May 5-6
For the 43
rd
year, the Collierville Twentieth Century Club is hosting the Fair on the Square, May 5-6. As always, the Fair will be held in the beautiful Collierville Town Square Park, Saturday 10-6 and Sunday noon-5. Admission and parking are free.
This year the Collierville United Methodist Church will provide free shuttle service from their parking lot at 454 W. Poplar to the Square. Vehicles will enter on Aldersgate on the west side of the church and park in the back of the church. The shuttle will run 10-6:30 on Saturday and 1-5:30 on Sunday. A handicapped van will be available. Verified service animals will be the only animals allowed on the shuttles.
Once visitors arrive at the Square, they will find over 180 regional vendors with all kinds of hand-crafted items to sell. Since the Fair comes just before Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations and summer weddings, visitors will want to check out the many beautiful products including jewelry, pottery, paintings, wooden items, yard art, children’s items, flowers, and so much more. Families with young children will appreciate that this year there will be kiddie rides, a climbing wall, a train that winds around the Fair, and face painting.
When lunch time comes, fair goers will have their choice of the many fair foods such as barbecue, corn dogs, kettle corn, funnel cakes, and lemonade and soft drinks. Many folks like to picnic on the grounds of the park or take their food to the depot stage to watch the entertainment from local churches, schools, dance groups, and both small and large bands.
