Collingwood Jazz & Blues at the Station
Cancelled for 2015
For Immediate Release
Collingwood - June 5th, 2015

Due to a lack of funding, the Jazz & Blues at the Station series will not be held this year, despite last minute efforts to pull things together for 2015.

Rather than presenting a watered down and shortened series, the Collingwood Jazz and Blues Society made the decision to cancel the series for this year and hopefully be able to present a full high quality series in 2016.

There are still several opportunities to enjoy quality jazz and blues music this summer in Collingwood. Supported in part by the Town of Collingwood, this includes:

Concert by the Collingwood Collegiate Jazz Band
will be held on  June 10 at 6 pm  at the Collingwood Station/Museum, 45 St. Paul Street.  The concert will start at  6pm .  Bring your lawnchairs. There is no charge but donations are encouraged.

Canada Day Concert featuring the Mike McCarthy Band and the  Aidan Funston Trio
July 1 music starts at  6 pm at the Collingwood Station/Museum, 45 St. Paul Street.  Bring your lawnchairs, there is no charge but donations are encouraged. Food and beverages will be available and the "Station" is a great place from which to watch the Canada Day Fireworks.

The 'Future of Jazz&Blues' concert will be presented during 'SideLaunch Days' on  Saturday August 1st. at  2pm. featuring young Collingwood Jazz and Blues artists 186 Hurontario Street at the TD Canada Trust building.

An afternoon concert on Culture Days weekend during the Collingwood Art Crawl. Outdoors at the TD Canada Trust, 186 Hurontario Street,  September 26 at 4pm.

We are looking forward to these events planned for for 2015 and hope to be able to welcome the community back to "Jazz&Blues at the Station" for 2016.

The Collingwood Jazz&Blues Society will continue to present the "Jazz & Blues in the Schools" program that will present  concert/workshops in all Collingwood schools in 2015 and 2016.
