Colonial High School
CHS Community Member,
As this edition is being released on Mother's Day I would like to say thank you so very much to all of our Colonial mothers for their efforts during this extraordinary school year to help our Grenadiers with their education. While tradition has carved out this one Sunday in May to celebrate mothers, in my view nearly every day could be deemed Mother's Day. I say this because their work never ceases and they proceed day after day seemingly tirelessly to guide their children along the right paths. Of course, our Grenadiers benefit from many other powerful female influencers when it comes to this important period of their lives including grandmothers, aunts, sisters, cousins, and others who play key roles. If you will take the time to read this week's "Food for Thought" below, you will find some remarks by very popular U.S. presidents who share similar views on our mothers.

A request of our Grenadiers. However you celebrate Mother’s Day, be sure to honor all the adults in your life who have made your life richer and have provided you with guidance. As we wind down this school year, take time to reflect and think about the goals you want to set for yourself for the new school year in the fall. It will be here before you know it!

Let’s make it another great week Grenadiers.

Spring Testing
Cambridge and Advanced Placement
Please visit the link for Cambridge and Advanced Placement testing. Students need to bring several number 2 pencils and a calculator if needed. In compliance with CDC guidelines, students must maintain social distancing at all times and they absolutely must wear a mask while on campus. Cell phones and other electronic devices will be prohibited from the testing room, so we are strongly encouraging students to leave them at home or in their vehicles.
AICE (Cambridge) testing is in blue on this calendar and AP testing is in red

For “AM” Cambridge testing, students should arrive by 7:20 and meet in the media center. For “PM” Cambridge testing, students should plan to arrive by 11:30 and meet in the media center.

AP testing students will report directly to their testing rooms.

Unfortunately, we do not provide transportation to and from school for testing of any kind.

3) Presidential Quotes About Moms at Mother's Day '21:
All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.
~ Abraham Lincoln

I hope you’ll also take a moment to say thank you to the women in your life who love you in that special way mothers do. Biological moms, adoptive moms, and foster moms; single moms, grandmoms and godmothers; aunts and mentors – whomever you think of when you think of Mother’s Day. Or take a moment, like I will, to remember the moms who raised us, whose big hearts sustained us, and whom we miss every day, no matter how old we get.
~ Barack Obama

From my mother I learned the value of prayer, how to have dreams and believe I could make them come true."
~ Ronald Reagan

My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute my success in life to the moral, intellectual, and physical education I received from her.
~ George Washington

Happy Mother's Day!
