Colonial High School
CHS Community Member,
This past week we enjoyed a wonderful Senior Drive Thru and as the pictures below illustrate, the students and staff really had a terrific time. Thank you so much to all of the students, teachers, staff, and volunteers that worked behind the scenes to make sure this special event was a success. Next up for our Seniors is graduation day! We are looking forward to Monday's ceremony at the Amway Center and more proud of these graduates our teachers and administrators could not be!

While we have the Class of 2021 graduation this week we are also administering CFEs (Please see the daily testing schedules and bell schedules for both campuses below.) Our Grenadiers have studied very hard since last August to reach the point of their CFEs, so once again I encourage students to get a good night's sleep the evening before an exam and to eat a healthy breakfast the morning of an exam. These two actions can help students to perform at their very best.

I hope you enjoy this latest edition of The Colonial Connection and best wishes for a successful week ahead!

Cambridge and Advanced Placement
Please visit the link for Cambridge and Advanced Placement testing. Students need to bring several number 2 pencils and a calculator if needed. In compliance with CDC guidelines, students must maintain social distancing at all times and they absolutely must wear a mask while on campus. Cell phones and other electronic devices will be prohibited from the testing room, so we are strongly encouraging students to leave them at home or in their vehicles.
AICE (Cambridge) testing is in blue on this calendar and AP testing is in red

For “AM” Cambridge testing, students should arrive by 7:20 and meet in the media center. For “PM” Cambridge testing, students should plan to arrive by 11:30 and meet in the media center.

AP testing students will report directly to their testing rooms.

Unfortunately, we do not provide transportation to and from school for testing of any kind.

Monday's Motivational Moment!
As we near the end of the 2020-2021 school year, we share this poem that underscores the importance of goal setting in our lives. Written by one of the world's most famous authors - "Anonymous" - it should particularly resonate with our 12th grade Seniors bound for college, military service, and the private sector this summer.

While this poem applies to all of us, we encourage our Seniors to reflect upon their true dreams and goals. They should write down specific goals and develop a plan as they move forward beyond high school as proud graduates of the Class of 2021!

When I think of what it is that sets some people apart,
I think that goals in life must be the place to start.

Imagine playing football on an unmarked field of green,
not a goal line to be sought, not a goal post to be seen.

It would be an aimless battle where there nothing to be gained,
not a thing to strive for, not a goal to be obtained.

We must have purpose in our lives for the flame that warms the soul
is an everlasting vision, every person must have their goal!

Have a wonderful week Grenadiers!
