CHS Community Member
I hope everyone enjoyed their Friday away as we head into week #3 of the second quarter. As a reminder, report cards for the first quarter were posted to Skyward last week. If you have not yet reviewed your student's grades and personal goals with them for this nine weeks, please do so as soon as possible.

If you have not looked at the OCPS 2023-2024 calendar, please remember that this year second quarter classes will run later into December with the last day of school being Friday, December 22. I wanted to point this out sooner vs. later so our families can plan ahead.

Thank you for reading about some of our latest events. Have a successful week!

Forensic Science 1 with Mr. Venable
Mr. Venable’s Forensic Science 1 students spent the first marking period sharpening their observation and deduction skills, along with learning the steps in how to process a crime scene. At the start of October, they were given a chance to practice all they had learned by analyzing the scene of a tragic incident related to Halloween visitors from the land of Oz. During this activity, students had to explain the steps in processing the scene, identify critical evidence, document that evidence with photos and sketches, and ultimately create a circumstantial case to identify a person of interest from a list of suspects.
