"What you have in your home creates your story.
I want you to surround yourself with what you love-
to be able to express yourself and live in comfort."

Greetings!

Color trends for 2020 are here! If you're looking for a color refresh, I have some fun color palettes to share from Sherwin-Williams. Hirshfield's also introduced their color of the year called Lioness, a deep yellow seen in the photo on the left. What a perfect name, right?

I attended a dinner event for designers put on by Sherwin-Williams where they introduced 45 new eclectic colors. Check out this page to see all the colors put together in fabulously organic ways. I always encourage the use of colors that you love in your decor, but it can be fun to get inspired by the latest trends. Contact me for a color consultation - I can make sure that your walls, furnishings, wall coverings, and decor are cohesive and make your space feel like your own.

I am also doing more speaking events and loving it! Recently I presented Change Your Space, Change Your Life at Temple of Aaron in St. Paul to show attendees how simple design changes can affect your life in a positive way. To add to the warm atmosphere, the event staff placed bamboo centerpieces on the table, a symbol of luck. I also introduced the Feng Shui Bagua, a tool you can use to lay over a blueprint of your space, and learn how areas on the map correspond to areas of your life. Contact me if you'd like to learn more about these concepts - I'd love to come and speak all about it!

Are you concerned about being more sustainable in your home? Me too. That's why I am taking classes next month to become certified in sustainable design. With more people focused on making their space and their lifestyle environmentally friendly, I'm excited to offer this as part of my design services.

Speaking of classes, I hope you'll join me for my next offering, Designing Your Home and Life with Vision Boards, on October 19th. Sign up today!

Read on for more great interior design tips and an artist spotlight. My latest project involved placing art at senior living apartments . There’s no project too big or too small - I love doing them all. Contact me for a design consultation.

Warmest Regards,
Julie Ann
Lights, Camera, Action! Movies Take Center Stage at Nokomis Square Cooperative 7th Floor Art Gallery
Who doesn't love going to the movies? Hot buttered popcorn, soda, and candy. The dim of the lights. Cozying up to a loved one. The glare of the big screen. I captured the feel of the theater by placing art in the 7th Floor Art Gallery at Nokomis Square Cooperative, senior living apartments in Minneapolis.
Upcoming Class
Designing Your Home and Life with Vision Boards

Creating a vision board is a process of discovery. We all want more or less of something. More money, less stress. More romance, less conflict. More career advancement, less health worries. During this class you are going to figure out what you want more of and what you want less of.
You’ll learn more about how you’d like your home to look and feel, and how that connects with what you want for your life. At the end of the class, you’ll leave with:
• Clarity
• Creative ideas
• A fresh perspective
• Opportunities for change
• A vision board!

Artist Spotlight: Avraham Loewenthal
Art can have deeply spiritual meaning, and the work of Avraham Loewenthal is no exception. Growing up in a Jewish family in Michigan, Loewenthal became interested in spirituality and meditation while attending college at the University of Michigan. He was introduced to the Kabbalah, the inner spiritual wisdom of Judaism. After traveling to Israel to explore his Jewish roots and learn the Kabbalah, he decided to move there permanently. “All my art is inspired by ideas from the Kabbalah. The Kabbalah is about our spiritual development towards attaining union with our divine source. This is through the spiritual work to attain a state of true giving with unconditional love.”
