Color of Teal Brings Ovarian Cancer Awareness Through Fashion
(New York, NY) October 2, 2012 - On Saturday, September 29th, 2012 Color of Teal hosted a fashion expo to help benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Color of Teal's Fashion Expo was hosted by the founder of Color of Teal, Genese Valentine, at The Pennsylvania Hotel.
The seminar featured Barry Boyd, MD, Michael L. Nimaroff, MD and Leslie R. Boyd, MD as speakers. The fashion show featured designs from: Monica Mens Couture, Stay by Stacey Angela, Otis Da'Mon Millinery, Michi Knitwear, Eyani Couture and Addon Chad Couture. The expo was a true success and brought much awareness to Ovarian Cancer and how important supporting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund is. Music was provided by Da Union's DJ O. Minaya. Recording Artist Mike Check also stopped by to show his appreciation for the foundation.
Color of Teal stands for Curing Our Ladies through Ovarian Research of Teaching Educational Awareness and Leadership. Color of Teal is a ovarian cancer advocacy organization that was founded in 2011 and is based out of New York City. The organization was created by Genese Valentine after the passing of her mother, Miriam Valentine. The organization has brought many survivors, friends, and families together to overcome the aftermath of Ovarian Cancer and help them see the positive to come. Along with establishing relationships with Ovarian Cancer survivors, Color of Teal also builds relationships with people currently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and try to help make those victims into survivors as well.
