The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has delayed enforcement of the Medicare Part D prescriber enrollment requirement. Providers now need to enroll by Jan. 1, 2019, instead of by Feb. 1, 2017.   
A Department of Labor rule that would have changed the salary and compensation levels for exempt executive, administrative and professional staff has been blocked, after a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction Nov. 22. The rule, which would have carried steep penalties for those who didn't comply, was set to go into effect Dec. 1, 2016. 
  
Dr. Richard Zallen died Nov. 24, 2016, at the age of 81. Dr. Zallen had a long and distinguished career as a dentist, an oral surgeon and an educator in Colorado. He was an active member of and contributor to the Colorado Dental Association.
Funding Opportunity to Strengthen Primary Care Services 
The Colorado Health Foundation announced a funding opportunity to increase the number of Coloradans receiving quality primary care services through grant and loan funds.  This initiative is offers low-interest loans in addition to grants so organizations can access the flexible capital they need to increase access to and improve the delivery of comprehensive, person-centered care.
