In its January meeting, the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission agreed to move forward with a rulemaking hearing in May 2026 to consider updates to the state’s emissions reporting requirements and fees. The CDPHE Air Pollution Control Division is proposing revisions to Air Quality Control Commission Regulations 3 and 7, which would include increasing fees for emissions reporting filings, annual emissions, and application processing from sources that are subject to those requirements.
The additional revenue would be another step in allowing the state to sustainably support existing programs that the division is required to administer under state and federal statute. The updates would also streamline emissions reporting procedures, furthering the division’s efforts to enhance accessibility, transparency, and overall system performance for all stakeholders.
