Shared clinical decision making (SCDM) is a vaccine recommendation option used by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), a sub-committee of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Unlike routine vaccine recommendations, SCDM leaves decisions around vaccination up to discussions between patients and physicians — ultimately impacting vaccine uptake.
