Alumni Weekend 2022: Register Today
We are thrilled to welcome back all alumni, faculty, staff and friends to Alumni Weekend 2022!

Take advantage of the chance to rediscover Columbus Academy and to renew your lifelong connection to this special place. The weekend will feature graduates with class years ending in 2 and 7 as well as the members of the Class of 1971 and the 1995 State Champion Soccer team who have been patiently waiting for their milestone celebrations!

Join us on campus for two days of fun, learning, and camaraderie. Our programming features a host of exciting events, taking place September 23- 24, including:

  • Connect with teachers, coaches, advisors and mentors over gourmet coffee, provided by Cappuccino Crew, at Coffee with the CA Legends
  • Hear the State of Academy from Head of School Melissa Soderberg
  • Enjoy a free picnic lunch courtesy of the Office of Alumni Relations (families and guests are welcome) guaranteed to be the perfect chance to relax and reconnect with classmates
  • Honor and celebrate two incredible young alumni -- Michael Corey ’01 the 2020 Young Alumni Awardee and Ryan Williams ’08 the 2022 Young Alumni Awardee

Alumni Weekend is a fantastic opportunity to not only reconnect with friends and classmates, but to also see first hand how your alma mater has grown into the school it is today.

Save the Date: Black Alumni & MOSAIC Luncheon
Save the date for the inaugural Black Alumni and MOSAIC Luncheon, hosted by the leaders of MOSAIC, Vanessa Butler '07, Kevin Dubenion '78, Khloe Dubenion '18, Alicia Henson '02, Vic Thorne '92, Katie Walker '02 and Lindsey Williams '01.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 24, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. as a part of the 2022 Alumni Weekend festivities.

We hope you will join us for great food and fellowship with Black alumni, current students and their families. Additional details coming soon.
14th Annual Golf Outing
Our alumni community is invited to participate in the 14th Annual Columbus Academy Golf Outing being held on Monday, September 19, at Columbus Country Club. The golf outing is designed to benefit financial aid in memory of George N. Corey, former Board of Trustees president and father of Michael Corey 01.

The outing will start at 1:00 p.m. followed by a gathering at the clubhouse. Golfers will have the option to play a casual four-person scramble or a four-person two-best ball for those who would like a little more competition. The outing is limited to 100 players (25 teams).

School News
Family, friends and colleagues of Susan Carter gathered in our art gallery near the end of May to celebrate her 35 years of service to Columbus Academy. Susan is stepping down from her leadership role as Dean of Middle School to transition to a part-time role that has yet to be determined. “I cherish my time at Academy,” Susan stated. “It’s been a wonderful ride!” Learn more about her successful and impactful career by clicking here. Pedro Mena has been named our new Director of Student Outreach. To successfully take on this new position, he will step down as Fine Arts Department Chair but will continue in his roles as a teacher and assistant diversity director. Pedro recently graduated from the Leadership Columbus Signature Program. He is shown in these photos with Leadership Columbus Executive Director Shannon Lee. Sports News
Recent graduate Sophie Spolter received the Don Erkis and Lou Berliner High School Jewish Scholar/Athlete Award awarded by the JCC of Greater Columbus! A three-sport athlete in soccer, basketball and lacrosse, Sophie earned the award after a standout career that included a pair of regional championships as the starting goalkeeper for varsity girls soccer, eclipsing the 1,000-point mark for her career last winter as a guard on the varsity girls basketball team as well as an all-state, all-region (also Region Defender of the Year) and all-league performer in girls lacrosse this past spring. Sophie will be attending Bates College, a Division III school in Maine, where she plans to play basketball for the Bobcats.
Columbus Academy alumnus Dr. Ben Bring '03 was recently announced as our new team physician. He replaces fellow 2022 Team Physician Award recipient Dr. Julie Bishop.
