2022 Student Alumni Board Representatives
We are pleased to announce that Anna Chang, Miles Friedman, Grace Hunter, Adeti Mohanselvan, Nnenna Onwe and Cory Wu have been selected to represent the senior class as Student Alumni Board Representatives.

The Student Alumni Board Representatives serve as liaisons between the Alumni Board, Alumni Office and the student body. They foster relationships between alumni and students and help develop and manage events that bring alumni together. During their senior year, the student reps attend all Alumni Board meetings and serve on committees as needed.

The student reps support Columbus Academy financially through participation in the Annual Fund and, following graduation, act as class agents until their five-year reunion. As class agents, they work with the Alumni Office to collect class notes, help with class fundraising solicitations, and assist in organizing reunions.
Behind Every Gift is a Story
Every graduates’ thoughtful gift last year played a critical role in supporting the countless Academy traditions and experiences we hold dear. We hope you enjoy reading this year’s Donor Impact Report, full of stories that highlight the wonderful spirit of generosity within our Academy community. This year’s publication features alumna Kate Denmead ’93, the Agrawal Family (Ketan ’17 and Davey ’22), the Class of 1970, and the family of Tom Morris ’54. To all of our alumni who are giving of their time, talent and treasure to Columbus Academy, we remain ever grateful for your support!
School News
As the guest speaker at our Upper School's annual Service Day last week, Academy alumnus Nick Jones ’01 P’34 — recently promoted to VP of Community Wellness at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (see press clips) — shared some of his work that helps better kids’ lives in communities across the Columbus area. Nick’s involvement in helping to improve living conditions, provide job coaching opportunities and enrich the lives of children and their families are just a few highlights of the hospital’s Healthy Neighborhoods Healthy Families initiative. Nick noted in his opening remarks, “When you think of a children's hospital, you wouldn't think that we would be engaged in things like housing, jobs and mentoring. We do this work because it impacts our kids’ health. And the only way that we’re really going to help to build a healthy community is by investing upstream in some of these areas.” To watch Nick’s presentation, click here.
“The various paths that you will take to get from where you are now to becoming an accomplished graduate of the school is the reason all your teachers devote so much time and investment in your growth and development,” said Head of School Melissa Soderberg to students during Columbus Academy’s Convocation on August 26. “We love watching each of you becoming who you’re going to be.” The school began its 112th year on August 22 with 1,170 students — ranging in age from 3 years old to grade 12 — from all across Central Ohio. That total included 162 new students just beginning their Academy journeys and a class of 101 seniors who will graduate in the spring. Sports News
Academy senior Stephen Ma broke a school record with an 18-hole score of 66 at the MSL-Ohio Midseason Tournament at Turnberry on August 27. As a freshman in 2019, he had tied the previous mark of 67, which was held by three other former players: Alex Simson ’08, Ali Khan ’20 and Russell Ahmed ’22. In addition to our boys winning both the varsity and JV competitions at this event, our girls team and boys swept the league preseason contests as well.
