Welcome to the 2022 golf season! We officially kicked off the season with our Tee Off event on March 15th and what an event it was….so many familiar and new faces, new vendors, new league opportunities, and new sponsors. This was our major fundraiser, and the Board will be busy this month allocating what we raised back to you, our members. Take a few minutes to review the upcoming events in this newsletter. Each event has a committee hard at work planning an outstanding day of golf for you.
Speaking of members, we have over 20 registered for our New Member Orientation. The game of golf is showing an unprecedented worldwide uptick in new participation and a hearty thank you to current members for introducing your friends to our organization. We expect this to be a banner year for membership all the way around!
Finally, we are enormously grateful to our sponsors. This year we have more sponsors than ever. Please pause at the end of this newsletter where we acknowledge our very generous and supportive sponsors and consider supporting their businesses in return.
With a few 60/70° days behind us, it’s looking a lot more like spring. See you on the links soon!

Calling on Volunteer Mentors for the
New Golfers League
|
|
League begins Thursday, May 26 for 14 weeks. The role of the mentor is to support the new golfers in the areas of golf etiquette, basic golf rules and course management. Most importantly, mentors share their knowledge and love of the game. You do not have to be a great or good golfer to mentor, we are looking for mentors with a willingness to help. There is also no requirement for how often you mentor and don't forget you earn birdie bucks! Please contact Deb Allen directly by clicking on this EMAIL to provide your contact information.

The golf season officially started in Ohio on March 15th, so here is some information about handicapping and how your chapter Handicap Committee is here to help you. HOLE IN ONE! Jana Highwart
|
Congratulations, Jana! This is her second Hole in One (the first was 2017). This happened March 3, 2022 at the Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course in Palm Springs, CA.
She had played in an 18 hole event that morning on the short course, had an awesome lunch on the patio (fish tacos, of course, a California staple), then headed out for 18 more holes on the championship course. On Hole 17, her 35th hole of the day, her playing partners and her came around the corner to see a beautiful hole with a large pond guarding most of the green and beautiful snow capped mountains in the background. After taking a bunch of pics, she grabbed her pitching wedge and headed to the tee (105 yards to pin). The ball hit the green, hit the flag and disappeared 😳 That's when the screaming started. Lol!!
