Join Our Columbus LPGA Amateurs Member Group on Facebook
Did you know as a member of the Columbus Chapter, you are eligible to join our Columbus LPGA Amateurs Member Group on Facebook? And why should you join anyway?

Our Columbus LPGA Amateurs Member Group is a way to connect with other Chapter members, share information with the group, set-up a social gathering, or even arrange tee-times / group play together now that the chapter events are winding down for the season. You may see Chapter information or activities posted here before it is available to the general public too.

While only Columbus chapter members can join and interact with the group, several members could arrange to gather socially or play golf with each other and even include other non-members in the activity.

Did you meet another member at a chapter activity or league play but don’t have their email and you want to arrange a tee-time and 19th hole? Or are you looking to play some weekend, but don’t know anyone who might be available? You could post a query to the group and connect to play.

Any activities arranged by group members are NOT chapter or association activities and there are Rules for the Group.
  1. This group is for members of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association - Columbus OH Chapter only.
  2. We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.
  3. Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What's shared in the group should stay in the group.
  4. Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
  5. Give more than you take in this group. Promotions, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed.

Are you ready to join? You will first need a Facebook profile. Then just click on our LPGA Amateur Golf Association - Columbus, OH Facebook page, and next click on the Groups link under the More drop-down. You will see our LPGA Amateurs Columbus Members group below. Click on the link to request to Join. A group administrator or moderator will approve any requests for members on our current Columbus Chapter roster. Then enjoy the chapter camaraderie even beyond the current playing season!

Event Wrap-Ups
Champions of Women’s Event
The weekend of September 17th was a fun volunteer/recruiting event for our Chapter to assist and mingle with 10 Midwest NCAA Division II Women’s golf teams and their coaches. Extra kudos to all 10 of our members who quickly signed up, showed up and did everything to ensure the first Champions of Women’s event was successful.

The multi college event at Champions Golf Course and Ohio Dominican University was organized by Ohio Dominican’s men’s and women’s golf Coach Chris Deibel, PGA. His vision is to shine light on women hero’s past and future that are paving a way for women in sports. The Friday night dinner attended by University President Connie Gallaher was in honor of Fran Kocsis and Sherri Brogan from Champions GC who are the only two women team operating a golf course in the country.

We look forward to jumping in again next year in an even BIGGER way!

West East Event

Overall, the event was so much fun!! We had a delightful September day and the course was absolutely beautiful!! The owners of the course made sure every detail was covered and we even got off a bit early!!

The event used the West/East game where each 4 some was broken into 2 teams on each hole depending on where the tee shots landed. The scoring format seemed a little confusing for those who were new to the West/East game, but after a couple of holes, everyone seemed to really enjoy the game!

The event was broken into two flights to make it fair for more to participate and share in the prizes. Special thanks for PGA Superstore who donated $20 gift cards. Each participant got a gift card and the 5 winners in each flight won additional cards. In addition, there were prizes for closest to the pin in each flight along with a long putt contest on holes 9 and 18.

After golf, the scoring was completed and we all enjoyed a DELICIOUS buffet dinner complete with chicken, steak, salad, veggie, etc. The venue was a bit far away for some, but totally worth the drive for an awesome day of fun!!

Thanks Events committee and the volunteers for making it a great event!.
