FROM NORTH YORK WOMEN'S CENTRE: ENDING GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE
We are thrilled to receive support from Women and Gender Equality Canada to look at the important issue of how technology and gender-based violence intersect. Women's organizations are ensuring their services remain accessible through digital delivery, but it isn't without risk. Our new project will look at ways to mitigate the safety, privacy and security risks of survivors of violence receiving support from community organizations working remotely.

We are looking for a consultant or team of consultants to work with us on this initiative. If you have expertise in technology, digital delivery of community services and gender-based violence, we invite you to submit a proposal.
EXPANDING DIGITAL ACCESSIBILITY
TABLET-LENDING LIBRARY
We have started a tablet-lending library to bridge the gap between digital services and digital access barriers. This initiative allows women and non-binary folks to borrow a data-enabled device so our programs and services remain accessible to them. Spread the word to anyone who would benefit from our organization but does not have access to digital devices.
SURVEY ALERT
HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD
The City of Toronto is building its first-ever Gender Equity Strategy, and it needs to be informed by the lived experiences of women, girls, trans, non-binary and Two Spirit residents! We are working with Planning Toronto to make sure our community's voices are heard in this short survey.
SOCIAL HIGHLIGHT
Thank you to Toronto Hyundai for their recent generous donation to NYWC!

We first connected with Toronto Hyundai in 2013 when we were neighbours on Dufferin Street. The dealership held a holiday party for staff, which included a raffle that donated proceeds to NYWC. We have maintained a relationship since then and appreciate everyone there, including the owners of the dealership who match all donations raised by employees.
