Combs Performing Arts Center Slated for March Re-Opening
Live Performing Arts Return to San Tan Valley with Additional Safety Precautions
SAN TAN VALLEY, ARIZ. - The J.O. Combs Unified School District is pleased to announce the re-opening of the Combs Performing Arts Center (CPAC) beginning March 1, 2021. The CPAC has remained close since March 2020 of its inaugural season due to the COVID pandemic, but is scheduled to resume operations with additional safety precautions and health mitigation strategies.
Starting March 1, 2021, the Combs Performing Arts Center will welcome the community back for facility rentals and events including live theater and music performances. In order to continue to prioritize health and safety of all guests, performers, and community members, additional requirements now include required masks, social distancing, temperature checks upon entry, liability waivers, reduced capacity of 25% (129 seats), and increased sanitation and cleanliness before and after each event.
Originally completed in January 2019, the Combs Performing Arts Center is an elegant venue featuring an intimate 516 seat house, a mezzanine with excellent views and acoustics, state of the art technology, a spacious lobby, large backstage spaces, a dance studio, and a flexible black box performance space with lobby access.
"Our Combs Performing Arts Center is truly a jewel of a venue, not only for San Tan Valley, but for our surrounding communities," said Dr. Greg Wyman, Superintendent. "The performing arts offer so much to our students and community members alike, and we look forward to safely welcoming back our patrons while also taking the appropriate measures to prioritize health and safety."
While the list of upcoming performances continues to grow, the current calendar of upcoming events includes:
