Combs Welcomes Three New Administrators to Leadership Team

SAN TAN VALLEY, ARIZ. - The J.O. Combs Unified School District is pleased to announce that three new administrators have been selected to join its leadership team for the upcoming school year.
Bob Anderson, Director of Support Services

Bob began his career in public education in 1981 when he joined the Kyrene Elementary School District as the Director of Plant Operations where he supervised maintenance, custodial and grounds operations, as well as bond and capital construction projects. A decade later, he joined the Tempe Union High School District in the same role, where he also oversaw bond and capital construction projects ranging from $25,000 to $75 million. In 2016, Bob transitioned to a senior project manager role with McCarthy for three years, and later joined Caliente Construction where he oversaw the creation of a K-12 division. Most recently, Bob served as a Project Manager and Construction Superintendent with Willmeng prior to joining the Combs team.
Julie Cook, Director of Business Services

Julie joins Combs with over 25 years of financial experience. Before moving to Arizona in 2005, Julie served as an Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer of Employee Benefits at a financial institution in Louisiana.  Shortly after her arrival to the state, Julie joined the public education sector and has spent the last six years working within various roles related to school finance. Julie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of West Florida, and is a proud military family member who loves watching the LSU Tigers play football.

Shanna Shoffner, Combs Traditional Academy Principal

Shanna began her career in public education as an aide and special education paraprofessional. After completing her teaching degree, she had the opportunity to work on a grant project between ASU and Maricopa County Juvenile Detention Center to provide transition and educational services to at-risk youth. Upon completion of that project, she began teaching at Casa Grande Union High School as a special education teacher. During this time, she also began pursuing her Masters in Educational Leadership. After leaving Casa Grande, she worked at the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office with youth within the school across five jails to provide special education services and assist with the transition back to their community. Most recently, Shanna has worked for Legacy Traditional School as an Assistant Principal and Principal.
"The breadth of talent and experience that Bob, Julie, and Shanna bring to Combs will be instrumental in our continued commitment to move the district forward and provide the best learning experience for every child, every day," said Dr. Gregory A. Wyman, Superintendent. "Please join me in welcoming these outstanding professionals to our leadership team and our Combs community."
