Would you be interested in learning how to use your smartphone to take beautiful photographs of your sp ecial events, our gorgeous Maine scenery, or capture images of your family and friends? Steve Thomas and members of our senior youth group would love to teach you how to take and edit your smartphone photos. Interested? Sign up in the Gathering Room and together we’ll pick a date and time for the class. Suggested donation of $25.
CONGREGATIONAL LIFE
Save the Date: Sunday, May 6th after worship. OPEN meeting with Stewardship to learn of next church year's plans for fundraising and financing. Some new ideas, and a balanced budget to be voted on at the June 3 Annual Meeting. This is your chance to be an informed voter!
THANK YOU! We want to extend a thank you to ALL who made our 9th Annual Heart in Hand Gala a success. And we are pleased to announce that we raised $8500 including our new Call to the Heart! - with Sincere Gratitude, Jen Civiello & Marge Titcomb
Add Your Spirit to the Gala: A Call to Heart
There is still time to add your Spirit to the Gala - just write a check to First Universalist for any amount with "Gala" in the memo line. New this year to our Gala was our Call to Heart, a 'reverse auction' starting at $500 donation and going down to whatever one can give. We raised $2500 towards adding flexibility to our Sanctuary Event Venue and dedicating hours of our Program Assistant's creativity to reaching out beyond our walls. We are keeping this Call open for a couple of weeks so that anyone who may not have been able to participate in the Gala can participate in Spirit. Check in with Marge (846-4765) if you'd like more information on this very successful Call.
INTERIM MINISTER FAQ CORNER
Q. I've just started coming here and getting comfortable - will that change?
A. No. Most of what you see, hear, and participate in will not be fundamentally different. Our interim minister will still uphold our principles and values and our community will remain welcoming and open.
Coffee Hour Hosting Calendar
Committees, councils, and groups at First U are all signed up for a turn to host coffee hour. Mariana Tupper will be contacting your group a few weeks ahead of time with a reminder, but you can also view the schedule here.
PEACE AND JUSTICE WORK:
FAITH IN ACTION
To survive as a community, people create a space to come together. A place to share traditions and cultural values. Music. Dance. Language. Story. It's the same in Brassó, Romania, as it is around the world.

Brassó, serving many surrounding villages, is one of 3 communities raising funds through Unitarian Kaláka and First Universalist –  now through May 9  you can donate at  Faithify.org .

This is Brassó's story.
Be part of preserving this community - donate at   Faithify.org .
FIA Photos Wanted!
You all are invited to submit photos and/or newspaper clippings about any First U social justice project you've been a part of during the past 3 years! These are to be featured in a new Faith in Action bulletin board in the Gathering Room, starting in September 2018.Please contact Mariana before the end of June at catalpa.girl@gmail.com or (207) 975-2884 to submit items or ask how to have your project included.
