Community Event
Several organizations that share our space will also have ofrendas and we hope that you will make them feel at home. Additionally we will have some traditional Michoacan dancers from Inlakech Cultural Center from Oxnard with us.
| |
This is a fantastic opportunity to welcome and host so many in our community, which has been a goal echoed by the church body for quite some time. We are having 3 baptisms and are hosting dancers and their family members as well as other community members who will be setting up ofrendas. What an amazing occasion! We need your help pulling it off!
Below are a few more things we need. Please consider signing up:
· Conchas (20 more)
· Potted Marigolds (10-20)
Contact Laura Andrews or Fr. Anthony with questions.

Special Note: No Incense Will Be Used on Sunday Out of concern for our siblings in Christ for whom incense smoke poses health issues, we will not be utilizing incense in our Sunday morning worship services. We look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday!
| And Join Us on All Souls Day at 5:30pm for a Quiet Service of Remembrance |
Commemorating All Faithful Departed
For centuries, it has been customary in the Church to remember the vast body of the faithful who, though no less members of the company of the Saints, are unknown in the wider fellowship of the Church. St. Paul's has carried on this tradition of prayerful remembrance of the loved ones of our own community.
Join us for a special time of prayer, remembrance, and community. All of the names we have gathered in remembrance of those we love but see no longer will be read aloud during the service.

| During our Plenty Good Room season of stewardship, we are reflecting on God’s abundance and our call to make space for all. There is room for everyone at God’s table. | Generosity is our grateful response to God’s gifts. This week, we reflect on our commitments of time, talent, and treasure — offerings that sustain the life of this parish. | |

Do you love taking photos at church events?
Are you the one who always knows what's trending on Instagram or Facebook?
Do you believe social media can be a force for good, a way to spread welcome, hope, and the Good News?
Then we'd love to have you!
No professional experience is needed, just a good eye, a willing heart, and a desire to help tell our story. To learn more or sign up, please contact Rose at rosemariehaydensmith@gmail.com or 805.794.1665

First Monday Book Club
Hi Happy Readers!
This month's book is Mad Mable by Sally Hepworth. It is a twisty tale of justice, redemption, and one irrepressible woman who's not done breaking the rules just yet. After all, no one ever suspects children or old ladies of murder. Elsie is an eighty-one year old quick witted resident of a quiet Melbourne suburb when a precocious seven year old neighbor forces herself into Elsie's home and life. This is an engaging, fast-paced story. Enjoy!
We meet again on Monday, November 2nd.

S.I.N.G. with the Birds!
Our ministry of nature enthusiasts, Spirituality in Nature Group, invites you to another adventure!
The fall bird migration is in full swing. Join us for another visit to the Ventura Harbor ponds for a bird walk led by our amazing birding friend Russell Galipeau, followed by a Eucharist for those who are interested.
We will meet at 4:00 pm at the ponds (located on Angler Court at the Harbor) on November 11. Because this is a holiday there will be paid parking in some harbor lots. If parking is full, on Angler Court free parking is still available at the lot for the Safe Harbor before you reach the boatyard on Spinnaker Drive.

Believe: An Advent Journey with Ted Lasso
As we move from Thanksgiving toward Christmas, join us for a five-week conversation-inspired by the hit series Ted Lasso. Through short video clips, Scripture and good conversation, we’ll explore welcome, gratitude, hope, peace and joy: what it means to share a table, to believe when things look bleak, to forgive, and to be accompanied in hard times.
You don’t need to know anything about soccer, or to have seen the show! (However, watching Season 1 would enhance the conversation)
When: Tuesday evenings, Nov 17, Nov 24, Dec 1, Dec 8 and Dec 15
Time: 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
Where: Community Room
Led by: Fr. Anthony and Anna Darby
Questions? Anna Darby anna.f.darby@gmail.com
All are welcome. Bring a friend.

A Thanksgiving Gathering
at St. Paul's
Wednesday, November 25
@ 3:00 pm
This Thanksgiving Eve, we invite our parish family and invited friends to gather at St. Paul's for a Thanksgiving liturgy followed by a potluck dinner.
Thanksgiving is a time to pause, give thanks for the many blessings in our lives, and celebrate the gift of community. We hope this gathering will be an opportunity for us to share a meal, enjoy one another's company, and make room at the table for everyone -- including those whose family may not be nearby this year. If you know of someone who is going to spend Thanksgiving alone -- please extend a warm invitation to join us.
Turkey, gravy and dressing will be provided. We invite everyone to bring a favorite side dish, salad, vegetable, or dessert to share.
Come as you are, bring a dish if you can, and bring your gratitude. Everyone is welcome at the table. Please click on the button below to RSVP and to sign-up for a dish you plan to bring.

Almighty and merciful God,
We give you thanks for the gift of life and for the blessings that surround us each day. Grant us health of body, peace of mind, and happiness of heart. When we are weary, renew our strength; when we are troubled, give us courage and peace; and when we are joyful, remind us to be grateful for your abundant blessings.
Guide us in all that we do, keep us mindful of those who need our care, and help us to share kindness, compassion, and love with one another. May your grace sustain us, your wisdom guide us, and your presence remain with us always.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
