In this Advent Season, we are asked to make room for holiness and righteousness as we reflect on the promise fulfilled by God to the people of Israel for a coming Messiah who will be the salvation of the world for all who believe in him. We look back during Advent to a birth over two thousand years ago and to the future of the second coming of our Lord and Savior with a heart of expectation. What a wondrous gift our Father gives us.
In this present time of Advent, I reflect on the year and how God has worked through S.W.I.M.'s ministry. I started a new prayer journal when I became president of S.W.I.M. The journal records prayers for SWIM, people, events and programs, and personal prayer requests over the past couple of years. I go over each page and make a notation in red for all the prayers answered. As I turned the pages, I was amazed to see how many prayers had been graciously answered. Scripture after scripture jumps off the pages reminding me how the Lord reveals his love for us. While I was praying over you and the SWIM ministry, the Lord spoke to me through one scripture, in particular,
1 Corinthians 1:5-7 (TPT),
"In him, you have been made extravagantly rich in every way. You have been endowed with a wealth of inspired utterance and the riches that come from your intimate knowledge of him. For the reality of the truth of Christ is seen among you and strengthened through your experience of him. So now you aren’t lacking any spiritual gift s you eagerly await the unveiling of the Lord Jesus, the Anointed One."
Daughters of the one true God, I encourage you to pray now for increased spiritual gifts for your ministries. Just ask to grow in three dimensions of the Holy Spirit in your life. Ask the Holy Spirit for more of his power, more of his character, and more of his wisdom ways for your ministry. As you walk through life, reflect Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit wherever you go giving all glory to God.
May you have a blessed Advent and a joyous Christmas season,
