Dean's Greeting
The Very Rev. Dominic Barrington
In this season of Epiphany, we hear the early stories of Jesus becoming known around Galilee. This coming Sunday, we hear the great words uttered by Philip, “come and see."

Discovering Jesus and the call Jesus makes, the very first thing Philip does is to go and tell a friend. His friend Nathanael appears reluctant and incredulous that anything good might come from Nazareth, but Philip simply says to him, “come and see.”
Come and see...
In this great season, we are reminded that this is exactly the job that Jesus also gives us: evangelization! That’s not a word we Episcopalians utter very often, but Sunday’s gospel story shows us just how simple it can be. Next time you wonder why your next door neighbor, your colleague at work, or your close friend doesn’t go to church, try finding the right way of saying “come and see” to them. With God on your side, you might be surprised by the results.

So rejoice that God has called us to be partners in God’s mission, and let’s celebrate together on Sunday!
