GET READY FOR THE SHOW THIS FALL

Behind the Scenes: Visualizing Venues

Inspired by the FIRST in SHOW season for 2024, NE FIRST is excited to share an informational series: Behind the Scenes. Learn what it takes to find inspiring and accessible venues to build the season schedule in this first installment of the series!

Up next: the making of an event! Learn what it takes to plan a FIRST robotics competition and be on an event planning committee.

Our goal is to host a celebration of all FIRST programs in New England during the 2024 New England District Championship at The Big E. It's not too late to make sure your voice is heard! Take the survey of our 2023 event and share your thoughts to help us make next year even better.

We're excited about the recently published 2024 FRC District Event Schedule and can't wait to see where teams will be competing. The first round of event registration preference ended and the second round will be available October 5–12!

Before we set the stage for our 2024 FRC District Events, it's still the off-season! Fall competitions officially kicked off last weekend with Mayhem in Merrimack (photo credit: Aidan Cox), and we still have the following to look forward to:

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

UConn FIRST

A Gathering of FIRST Alumni

UConn FIRST is more than just an educational society. Their main task is to gather alumni from the FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Tech Challenge teams who attend the University of Connecticut.

The organization started in 2016 when a group of FIRST alumni at UConn wanted to continue their engagement in the community despite no longer competing on teams. They wanted to create a space where FIRST alumni at UConn could come and share their passion for robotics while developing professional, networking, and mentorship skills.

They form one cohesive family: educating members, developing their professional skills, and encouraging them to network with other FIRST alumni. Mentoring local teams and volunteering at events of all kinds in Connecticut and Massachusetts allows members to stay active in the FIRST community.

UConn FIRST is made up of members from FRC teams 181, 1071, 1124, 2168, 3464, 5686, and 8085; and FTC teams 5518, 5520 and 8152.

This year, UConn FIRST will host an NE FIRST University Day on December 2! Register to attend or sign up to present!
