Public Service Announcement: All Library Parking Areas Open!

The McMahon Wintonbury Library parking lot is now open. Landscaping and other site work will continue throughout the fall, which may impact some parking spaces. Thank you to the Blue Hills Fire Department for their generosity and partnership throughout this process. For the shortest distance between library services and parking, accessible spaces are located directly outside the parking lot entrance at McMahon Wintonbury Library.

The Prosser Library parking garage is open. Handicap-accessible parking is available in the following locations:

-in front of Prosser Library along Tunxis Avenue

-in designated spaces in the parking lot at the base of the bridge

-in the parking garage

Please note that solar panel installation is underway. Equipment associated with this project may be visible on-site near the parking garage. Thank you for your patience and understanding as these improvements continue. We appreciate your cooperation!

It's the New Prosser Library's First Anniversary!

Prosser Library opened its doors for a soft launch on October 28, 2025. As we approach our first anniversary, we’re still amazed by everything that has gone into, and continues to go into, our buildings project.

As we look back on Prosser Library’s Grand Opening Week this past June, we’re especially proud to celebrate the official citation we received from the Connecticut General Assembly in recognition of this milestone. Rep. Gibson presented the citation at our Grand Opening Reception.

Did you know that 7,590 Bloomfield residents have a library card? If you don’t have one yet, now is the time! Library cards are free for everyone from birth and open many doors, both inside the library and beyond Bloomfield.

We’re grateful to be where we are today. We keep showing up, finding ways to improve, and working every day to better serve all 22,000 Bloomfield residents. Thank you for being part of our journey.
