Good afternoon SPT and PTA students of Virginia!
My name is Manolya Martin and I am the Nominating Committee Chair for this year’s Student Special Interest Group (SSIG). I would like to cordially invite all first and second year DPT students and first year PTA students to apply for student positions for the next year’s SSIG cohort, as it’s officially election season! (Please note that you must be a current VPTA member to apply).
Being a member of the VPTA SSIG has been a very rewarding time for me, and I hope you’ll allow me to briefly share some of my experiences with you. To start, I have had the amazing opportunity to network with students and practicing clinicians from across the state. I have learned about the people, students and clinicians alike, who work tirelessly for you. We have worked hard to put on student Fall Summit, in which most of you attended! There are VPTA members who represent you and your PT/PTA interests at the state and national legislative level, advocating for our profession so we are able to provide the best possible care for our future patients.
