NEW IBERIA, La. --- Coastal Shrine Club of Jefferson Island, La has anxiously awaited the announcement of their renewed annual fundraiser. Each year the Shriners raise funds to continue their efforts in the community. This year they are stepping it up a notch.
The community's favored location, New Iberia’s own SugArena (713 NW Hwy. Bypass) will host the incredible daylong event. On Nov. 16, 2019, the day kicks off at 8 a.m. when the alarm sounds for the teams to light their fires. Each team will spend the day barbecuing their entries into each category including Chicken, St. Louis Ribs, Brisket & Burnt Ends
Kids events kick off at 10 a.m. with a variety of activities. Vendors will have an array of local crafts, farm to table items and goodies from 10 - 3 p.m. A fais-do-do with Richard LeBouef & TwoStep will start at 2 p.m.
Teams will begin serving attendees at 5 - 8 p.m. Stick around to hear the winners of each category when the judges announce winners at 7 p.m. Bon Temp Grill Express will be on site all day and KBON 101.1 FM will be broadcasting live.
Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children 5-11. Active duty and children under 5 get in free.
