Taking A Look Back:

During a past sermon, Pastor Sarah shared a story about her basketball team that faced numerous trials and tribulations, but still managed to give their best. The team consisted of only five players (see the "proof" below), but they did not let that diminish their spunk. Pastor Sarah encouraged us to take inspiration from this story and apply it to our own lives:

'We gave it our all, and at the end of the game, the score was 11-88. Sometimes life is like that. One thing after another comes at you… the bigger girls from the other school come in rested and fresh… Tina sprains her ankle… and the scoreboard just keeps looking worse.

I think about Jesus’ words in Matthew, "The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house..." yes, "the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock." In Philippians, the apostle Paul describes a way of being still, of having peace, even when anxiety builds, even when our lives are like this game.'

Weekly Prayer

O God, you know we are often filled with fear and foreboding,

Give us courage and deepen our trust.

You are a rock which nothing can shatter.

On you we can place the whole weight of our lives.

We kindly ask for your continued prayers and support for the college and graduate students in our church who are currently preparing for their final exams. This is a challenging time for them, and we hope that they are able to stay focused and perform to the best of their abilities. Your thoughts and well-wishes can provide much-needed encouragement and motivation during this stressful period. Let us all come together to support each other.
