We highly recommend listening to a powerful sermon by Martin Luther King Jr. titled "But If Not." In this sermon, King reflects on the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and their unwavering faith in God, even in the face of persecution. King draws parallels between their story and the Civil Rights Movement, urging listeners to stand firm in their beliefs and values. His passionate delivery and poignant message make this sermon a must-listen for anyone seeking inspiration and guidance in their own fight for justice and equality. Follow the link to access the full sermon and be inspired by the words of this great leader.

We invite you to join us on January 14th for a special MLK Sunday service, centered around the theme of justice.

This service will be a time for us to reflect on the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his tireless pursuit of justice for all people.  King was an American Baptist pastor and therefore we have a special challenge as a church to follow in his footsteps.

We will come together as a community to honor Dr. King's legacy and discuss how we can continue his work in our own lives. Our service will include inspiring music, meaningful readings, and a thought-provoking sermon.

Please mark your calendars for this important event and invite your friends and family to join us as well. We look forward to seeing you there!

You don't want to miss special guest singer, Michelle Hill, this Sunday @CCOP

We are thrilled to announce that Michelle Hill will be joining us, along with our Music Director, Daniel Hill, and the CCOP Band for our special MLK Sunday service. With her soulful voice, Michelle is sure to bring energy and joy to our service. We invite you to join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with this inspiring music.

Weekly Prayer

From Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We thank you for your church, founded upon your Word, that challenges us to do more than sing and pray, but go out and work as though the very answer to our prayers depended on us and not upon you. Help us to realize that humanity was created to shine like the stars and live on through all eternity. Keep us, we pray, in perfect peace. Help us to walk together, pray together, sing together, and live together until that day when all God's children — Black, White, Red, Brown and Yellow — will rejoice in one common band of humanity in the reign of our Lord and of our God, we pray. Amen.

We are delighted to announce the creation of our new church logo.

The logo reflects our commitment to serving our community with openness and spreading the love of God. We look forward to seeing it become a recognizable symbol of our church.

Once again, thank you, Phil, for your outstanding work!

Last Sunday, due to the winter storm, our church was closed for in-person meetings. However, we were able to continue our fellowship by meeting virtually through Zoom. Despite the challenging weather conditions, we had a joyful time of conversation, prayer, and Bible study. It was heartwarming to see the strong sense of community that exists within our church, even in the midst of a storm. We are grateful for the technology that allows us to stay connected and worship together, no matter the circumstances.

Women Together will be hosting their monthly potluck breakfast this Saturday January 13th. The breakfast will take place in Rhodes Hall from 9am to 11am. Women of all ages are welcome to attend and share in faith and fellowship. Come join us for a time of delicious food, great conversation, and a chance to connect with other women in the community. We hope to see you there!

We are excited to announce the launch of the Children's Prayer ground at our sanctuary! We understand that attending religious services with young children can sometimes be challenging, as they may become restless and need a space of their own. That's why we have created a special area in the back of the sanctuary just for them. The Children's Prayer ground offers a safe and welcoming environment for children to play and explore while still allowing their parents or guardians to fully participate in the service. We believe that this addition will enhance the overall experience for families and create a more inclusive and engaging worship environment. We invite all families with young children to take advantage of this new feature and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our community.

Here at The Community Church of Providence we encourage children to be an active part of worship! Sunday school for children is held during service. If you're looking for a fun and engaging way to get your kids involved in church activities, Sunday School is the perfect place to start. Join us Sunday and see what your child can create!
