Outdoor Shabbat Services & Picnic

Friday, July 11 | Picnic: 5:30 pm, Service: 6:15 pm

Friday, August 22 | Picnic: 5:30 pm, Service: 6:15 pm

In-person and Online

In appreciation of the warm evenings, long days, and bright sun, we are taking Kabbalat Shabbat services outside! Bring a picnic dinner, or order one from Mamelah's Delicatessen and have it waiting for you. Stay to be part of a music-filled, highly participatory multi-generational Shabbat evening service. A chance to enjoy nature and its beauty!

During both evenings, we will have a chance to put our prayers into action with postcard writing for Mazon's No One Deserves to Go Hungry Postcard Campaign. The goal of the effort is to send 47,000 postcards to the Department of Agriculture in support of basic needs programs such as SNAP (formerly food stamps), each postcard representing 1,000 people experiencing hunger.

Pickleball and Pizza - PrimeTIme/Boomers Summer Edition

Thursday, July 24 | 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In-person, outdoors

Enjoy a summer evening with our Temple Isaiah adult community (21+). PrimeTIme/Boomers is converting 55 Lincoln Street into two round-robin pickleball courts, one for beginners and one for more advanced play. You will rally and rotate through seven-point games giving lots of people a chance to play!

Don’t play? No worries – we are combining pickleball with a summer supper featuring gourmet brick oven pizza with craft beer, aperitifs, and mocktails.

There will be ample opportunity for schmoozing and catching up, and music from across the decades! $18/person.

Help Fight Food Insecurity this Summer

Hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation. There are multiple ways to help:

  • Donate crackers and raisins to JF&CS Family Table Food Pantry. Please bring whole grain crackers or raisins to the donations in the box in the temple lobby Or order from our amazon wishlist.
  • Volunteer at the Lexington Interfaith Food Pantry. Every Saturday, volunteers pack the food items that clients have requested
  • Volunteer at Food Link in Arlington, a valuable food rescue organization
  • LexFarm, Lexington’s Community Farm. The farm donates a share of its organic produce to help feed those in need, including Food Link, Arlington Eats, and Lexington’s Interfaith Food Pantry.

Thank you for helping in this important work!
