September 2019 at Place des Arts
Home to our arts community
Firstly, I want to thank you for your interest and participation in Place des Arts and for reading my monthly newsletters.

Secondly, I have some bitter-sweet news; this will be the last newsletter I write for Place des Arts. I am moving on to the next chapter in my life: semi-retirement/retirement . . . maybe a little freelance work or perhaps something completely different! The possibilities are as exciting as they are endless.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Place des Arts for the past 12 years. Connecting with so many wonderful clients, artists and arts enthusiasts has been gratifying and inspiring.

Of course, you'll still get your regular news each month, so stay tuned to meet our new Communications Coordinator who will make introductions in our October newsletter.

In other news, read on to find out about everything going on this September at the centre.

And with that, I bid you adieu!
Kate Lancaster
Communications Coordinator

Learn and create in Fundamentals of Art & Design

Teacher Lena Savic invites adults (18+) to come and expand your visual literacy in her new class. From learning how to read abstract art and appreciate art that doesn't have any narrative or personal resonance, to creating your own projects in drawing, painting and collage, Lena will guide you through the fundamental elements and principals of art and assist you as you put them into practice.

The Fundamentals of Art & Design runs during the fall, winter and spring sessions on Tuesdays from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.

Register for the fall session online here or call our registration staff for more info and to register by phone at 604.664.1636.

Coquitlam Express Home Game Opener!
Take in some great hockey and stop by our table at the game

We've partnered with the Coquitlam Express hockey team this year, making an arts/sports connection in our community. The team's home game opener is on Saturday, September 21 starting at 6:00 pm, and the team would love to have a great audience cheering them on!

We'll be there facilitating a simple art activity to entertain the kids in the audience before the game and during intermissions, so stop by to say hi and get your kids engaged in art.

GO TEAM GO!!
