Janine Boyd served as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives for the 9th district from 2015 until 2022, when she was appointed by President Joe Biden to serve as a regional director of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
During her tenure in the House, Janine advocated for programs and policies that serve the most vulnerable citizens, including victims of domestic violence. Boyd was a founding member and co-chair of the Ohio Black Maternal Health Caucus and sits on the board of the Ohio Children's Trust Fund – Ohio's sole, dedicated public funding source for child abuse and neglect prevention.
