Come meet Celeste Maloy, City Council Races, and Some Cowboy Poetry

Come Meet

Celeste Maloy

Our (very likely) New Representative in Congress

Next week Representative Paul Cutler and I will be hosting a town hall/meet the candidate night for Celeste Maloy. It will be Wednesday, Oct 4th at 6:00 P.M. at the Centerville Library.

Because our district is a very Republican district, Celeste will (almost certainly) win the election in November and will become our next Representative to Congress.

Electing a new person to Congress doesn't happen very often, (it's been 11 years since we last did that in our district) so this is a great chance to get to meet our future congresswoman and let her know what is on your mind.

Celeste has a great set of experiences that prepared her for this race and to be ready to serve in the office. Because of her work as legal counsel in Congressman Chris Stewart's office, she will start being far more knowledgeable about how to get good things accomplished in Washington D.C. than most any other freshman representative.

From 6:00 to 6:30 pm, we will have some time to mingle and talk on a one-on-one basis and then at 6:30 we will have a more formal chance for questions and answers about either state or local issues.

I hope to see a lot of you there!

City Council elections are also coming up!

Your chance to meet the candidates in person will be Oct 16th and Oct 18th

There are races for City Council spots in both Bountiful and West Bountiful this year.

Both City Councils have 3 spots that are up for election this year. There are 6 candidates running for the Bountiful City Council and 5 Candidates running for the West Bountiful City Council.

The Davis County League of Women Voters has organized some in-person Meet the Candidate nights in October so if you have opinions about how you hope things go in your city, or just want to get to know the brave souls who have thrown their hat in the ring, this is your chance.

Monday, October 16th the candidates for West Bountiful City Council will all be at West Bountiful City Hall at 6:30 P.M. for Meet-and-Greet and 7:00 P.M for Candidate Forum to answer questions.

Wednesday, October 18th the candidates for Bountiful City Council will all be at Bountiful City Hall at 6:30 P.M. for Meet-and-Greet and 7:00 P.M. for Candidate Forum to answer questions.
