Dear UCEA,
The end of the semester is in sight! There is still much left to accomplish, I know, so hang in there!
We are headed to AERA and looking forward to welcoming our Clark and Jackson Scholars and RDP fellows to San Diego. I invite you to join us at our joint reception with Divisions A and L and SAGE on April 22nd at 7:30, immediately following the Division A Business Meeting. You will find us on the Marina Terrace of the Manchester Grand Hyatt!
Importantly, we have several deadlines coming up,
-
#UCEA22 Convention proposal deadline is May 15.
-
UCEA Faculty and Leadership Excellence Awards nominations are open. The Faculty Awards deadline is May 27.
-
For graduate students, if you are interested in joining the Graduate student Council submit your materials by May 1. #GSS22 graduate student proposal deadline is June 1
May is a busy month! As always, keep checking the website for updates. [Note: direct any questions regarding the awards to uceaawards@gmail.com ]
We have just published the second of our three-part ESSER policy analysis, A Logic Model Framework for Evaluating ARP ESSER Interventions. This second brief poses a framework for implementing and evaluating local ESSER plans. We play a pivotal role in both supporting district and state partners as they use their ESSER funds, as well as providing evidence of the impact of that use for future educational policy renewals. This is an important read for all of us.
Lastly, I am happy to announce our Inaugural Presidential Spring Lecture Series on May 11. President David DeMatthews has invited several speakers to discuss issues of academic freedom, censorship, and Critical Race Theory. We will send out more information in the next few weeks. Until then please add this to your calendar!
I hope you end the semester in good spirits, good health, and good company! Thank you, as always, for your support and commitment to UCEA,
Adelante UCEA,
Mónica Byrne-Jiménez
Executive Director
