Addressing the Housing Needs of Military and Students
CIP Finishes supports the military in every way we can, so the opportunity to help renovate housing for military families at Fort Belvoir is especially rewarding. Our work at the Army garrison in Northern Virginia is slated to begin this summer.

We will equip 51 housing units with bath accessories, Elfa shelving, DreamLine and Quality Enclosures shower enclosures, Schlage and IVES door hardware, American Pride medicine cabinets, Spring Window Fashions blinds and frameless mirrors.

CIP Finishes is grateful to CBG Building Company, the general contractor, for our role in this effort.

We also are excited about plans to expand housing for George Mason University students with a new 267-unit community on Democracy Lane in Fairfax, Va., scheduled to open in Fall 2022. We will furnish and install Moen and Bobrick toilet and bath accessories, frameless mirrors, and Rubbermaid shelving in the units; JL Industries fire extinguishers in units and common areas; and Bobrick toilet and bath accessories, ASI Global Partitions, Patterson Pope lockers Dero bike racks, Auth Florence mailboxes, and Clarus glassboards in common areas.

CIP Finishes thanks Bozzuto Construction, the general contractor, for this opportunity. This project is owned by Capstone Collegiate Communities and designed by architect Niles Bolton Associates.

Fresh, New Spaces Will Welcome Post-pandemic City-dwellers
CIP Finishes is working on multiple projects that are transforming parts of Washington, D.C., into lively, walkable, family-friendly neighborhoods. The pandemic has caused city-dwellers to reevaluate their needs. They are opting for units close to amenities, with high-end finishes to make daily life luxurious. Apartment communities near green spaces will be in high demand. CIP Finishes has a role in several projects that will answer this demand, and which are turning the residential neighborhoods of Eckington, NoMa and Rosslyn into spaces where residents can enjoy a commitment to sustainability, walkability and in-house amenities.
Transit-Oriented Development a Trend in Multifamily Housing
Transit-oriented development is being heralded by state and local officials in the Greater Washington, D.C., region for the many benefits it offers.

Those include reducing traffic congestion and pollution by providing opportunities for people to live close to convenient public transportation, and boosting local economies as this type of development creates vibrant neighborhoods full of restaurants and other businesses.

At CIP Finishes, we have been watching this trend for several years, as we’ve played a role in the development of several apartment communities that are near current or future Metro stations.

CIP Finishes welcomes new employee
Amari Johnson has joined CIP Finishes as an administrative assistant.

Johnson was an NCAA Division 1 basketball player for Rider University. Her most memorable moments were during her last season with the team, when they won their conference title and tournament. Johnson was named Defensive Player of the Year for her performance.

Though she misses playing with a team, basketball taught her life lessons that she continues to use in her current role at CIP Finishes.

She has a Master of Business Administration from Rider, where she graduated last August. Johnson has also worked in the home remodeling business and has experience in logistics and working with finance in higher education.

She said about working at CIP Finishes, “I enjoy learning new things every day. I'm given a new task to complete that I've never done before.”

She’s adaptable, a terrific active listener and knows the value of teamwork. Please join us in welcoming Amari to our team.
