Dear Grace Family,
Moving towards the end of the month and anticipating all those PUMPKINS COMING!!! The pumpkins bring us together to work in a “Labor of Love” for our church. The pumpkin patch is a fantastic opportunity for us to neighbor with our community! We can enjoy the (hopefully) cooler weather and the hum of folks laughing and enjoying being outside. The fall season opens our eyes and our hearts to God’s majesty in a unique way! The beauty of all the warm colors and smells of fall!
So, if you can, join us in our pumpkin patch adventure of 2023! The last week of September we will prep the patch for the pumpkins and decorate! The pumpkins arrive on Sunday, 10/1/23 conveniently at 12:00 pm, right after church! Lend a hand in unloading the truck and making the patch come to life! We will need donations of water, sandwiches, and snacks for the volunteers! If you can bring any wheelbarrows, wagons, or anything to help move the pumpkins to the courtyard would be helpful. Work gloves should be worn to avoid splinters! Bring a friend/friends to help!
Another opportunity is with our neighbor The Houston Saengerbund that so graciously allowed us to use their facility for our Christmas service last year when we had no heater! Lisa is asking for volunteers who are 14 years and older to help with their Fall Oktoberfest on Saturday, 9/30/23 from 11:00 – 4:00. All youth who volunteer can receive a letter of service hours, so if you know any youth needing hours, please connect them with Lisa. You can connect with her at (832)484-8446 or omalisa1122@outlook.com. This is a wonderful way to be a good neighbor in our generous season!
Blessings,
Leonor Hernandez
