Sleep Away Adventure

This year, we're highlighting a fantastic 10 day Sleep Away Camp program from Wednesday, June 27th - Friday, July 6th.

During this adventure, the girls will DISCOVER new interests and strengths by participating in traditional camp activities like fishing, row boating, archery, and campfires. They'll CONNECT to their Girl Scout sisters as they share the challenging experience of our low and high ropes courses, and to the environment, through nature hikes and pond studies.  By TAKING ACTION through our Forever Green project, and by earning badges and completing journeys, they'll develop the three keys of leadership and work towards fulfilling the pre-requisites for the highest awards in Girl Scouting.

Girl Scouts from schools that let out a little earlier can enjoy camp during our first summer session, which runs from Monday, June 18th - Friday, June 22nd, and features 5 days of activities and badge work.

Summer Weekend Getaways

In addition, we offer Summer Weekend Getaways designed especially for "Mom and Me", or for whole troops who want to camp together. These weekends can be tailored to your interests and are an excellent option for first-time and experienced campers alike.

Girls select a program track, based on their level that will allow them to earn a badge from the Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting. This year, we're offering five Summer Weekend Getaways to fit everyone's busy summer schedule. Only four of those are still available so hurry and get your application in for getaway in June (the 8th-10th, the 15th-17th) or July (the 6th-8th, the 13th-15th).

Father Daughter Day

We invite all Girl Scouts to spend a day bonding with their father or male guardian at Camp Kaufmann through activities such as boating, hiking, archery and fishing.

Plan Ahead

Why go troop camping? By camping as a troop, girls learn to value the outdoors and care for the environment, develop self-reliance, learn team-building skills and bond with their sister Girl Scouts. If you are not Camp Certified, now is the perfect time to take the required trainings and get your troop ready for the fall season of troop camping. To register for any of these trainings, please contact the training manager at lgolden@girlscoutsnyc.org or 212-645-4000, ext. 239.
