Cushion Concert:
Fun for music
lovers of all ages

The SSO's first Cushion Concert of the new season will feature a close-up look at the brass instruments of the orchestra.

Join us on Sunday, October 28, at 2 p.m. in the Stratford Public Library as Dave Manning (trumpet), Susan Follows (trombone) and Randi Patterson (horn) play an assortment of fun music that introduces the instruments to a family audience.

They will also demonstrate how they get sound from a brass instrument.  (Exactly how does that happen???)

Participants will get a chance to try playing "hoseaphones" made of garden hoses and funnels as well as other musical toys! Included too is a set of Variations on a Cornish Tune that tells the story of a day in the life of an Old Grey Duck.

Gather up your children /grandchildren and we'll see you Sunday at the library!
