Murder. Mystery. Mayhem.… and a theatre company that really shouldn’t be trusted with any of them. Kauai Community Players proudly present the int'l comedy sensation The Play That Goes Wrong: The Cornley Drama Society has worked tirelessly to present a classic 1920s murder mystery. Unfortunately…The actors may not remember their lines. - The props may not be where they should be. - The crew may be making things worse. - And the “dead body” may not stay dead! Despite a series of increasingly catastrophic mishaps, the cast is determined to finish the play. And that’s when things really start to go wrong.

If you love comedy, live theatre, or simply watching things go hilariously off the rails … this is the show for you. But be warned: Tickets will disappear faster than the props in this show!

B.R.A.V.E. HAWAII...

B.R.A.V.E. Hawai'i is a local non-profit organization, founded and created by Mahealani Sims-Tulba in 2013. The name "B.R.A.V.E" is an acronym that stands for "Be Respectful and Value Everyone." Having been a victim of bullying herself, Mahea works hard in the community to bring awareness to students against bullying, by speaking and reading to schools while promoting values of kindness and respectfulness, goal setting, personal development and motivation.

In 2012 to complement the launch of the B.R.A.V.E Hawai'i foundation, Mahea also authored and illustrated a children's book entitled, “It’s Okay to Be Different,” whose story line is inspired by her personal accounts of being bullied by fellow students in elementary school. Mahea believes the process of writing the book and creating a foundation has allowed her to turn her negative experience into positive change and awareness of the bullying problem in Hawai'i. It is also her way of sharing her experience with others and being a voice for those who have ever experienced bullying on any level.

An Askew Look at Kauai Happenings was inspired by the volunteer work of Kauai arts supporter Greg Askew, who, for a very long time, sent out his own What's Happenin' eblast. Greg and I (the other Greg) got together to combine his efforts into our Elsewhere on our Garden Isle. If you have a non-profit, non-political event you would like included, email me.
