Dear Emmaus Families, 



What a week we have had! 

What a great turnout yesterday for church, and the students sounded wonderful—thank you!

And thank you to all who volunteered at our booth yesterday—we appreciate you so much—and as you know, it was non-stop! Thank you also to those of you who stopped by and said Hi! It was so good to see you. 

On Wednesday, we had a wonderful chapel message from our 3rd graders and Mrs. Hart reminding us about the truth and that we can find God’s truth in the Bible. This truth is that He loves us and wants us to be with Him forever so much that He sent His son Jesus to die for our sins.

We were so excited to have the Comfort Dogs at our school on Wednesday. This is an amazing ministry that we got to see at work in the community of Monterey Park, and we were blessed that they came and spent time with us. 

Finally, we are very happy to announce that Mrs. Carlstrom had her baby on Saturday afternoon! River Eliza was born at 2:35 p.m and is 7 lbs, 10 oz. Both of them are doing great. Please keep the whole family in your prayers. 

And also, it’s re-enrollment time! I do not take it for granted that each of you is here with us at Emmaus. And I pray that you will continue to be part of our family. Please look for re-enrollment information and materials to come home later in the week.

We hope to see all our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders THIS Friday at our first Youth Group Event of the year! You won't want to miss it!

As we enter Open Enrollment for next year, we have a few events for our community and Emmaus family to attend and learn more about what we have in store for next year.

We have a Kindergarten Info Night on February 6 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kindergarten classroom. Mrs. Blanco will talk all about our Kindergarten curriculum, schedule, and goals. If you have a preschool student, this event is especially for you! If you know of any preschool parents, tell them to come and check it out. We will have an ALL SCHOOL (Preschool, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-8) Info Night on February 15 between 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Invite friends and neighbors to come and take a tour, meet the teachers, view the classrooms, and learn all about what it's like to be a part of our Emmaus family. Our big Lutheran Schools Sunday is on March 12, and we will have our annual Open House from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You won't want to miss this awesome event! Classrooms will be decked out with student projects. You can see what your child has been working on this year, and look at all the classrooms to see what lies ahead.
